 +»Vor mehr als 20 Jahren erschienen schon in eben dem Verlag ein paar Bände ähnlichen Inhalts unter dem Titel //Wahrhafte und merkwürdige Schicksale reisender Personen// u s w [mit 2 Auflagen] Die gegenwärtige neue Sammlung welche man als eine Fortsetzung derselben ansehen kann, wird, wenn sich Abnehmer finden, leicht zu vielen Bänden anwachsen, da alte und neue Reisebeschreibungen den Stof hergeben sollen. Dieser erste Theil enthält die Schicksale des ehemaligen Churpfälzischen Kanzleyregistrators ''Michael Heberer'' während seiner türkischen Sklaverey, in welche er 1585 gerieth. Sie sind aus einem alten, bereits 1610 zu Heidelberg in 4° herausgekommenen Buch genommen, das den Titel führt //Egyptiaca Servitus d. i. wahrhafte Beschreibung einer dreyjährigen Dienstbarkeit// etc.\\ 
 +Was im Original nicht Heberers Sklaverey sondern seine nachherigen Reisen betrift das ist hier mit Recht übergangen auch die Erzählung überhaupt abgekürzt in einem erträglichen Styl eingekleidet und von manchen unnützen Reflexionen gesäubert worden Die Geschichte an sich enthält eben nichts hervorstechendes sondern die gewohnlichen Schicksale dererjenigen, die das Unglück haben in türkische Gefangenschaft zu gerathen. Inzwischen finden Liebhaber einer solchen Lektüre darin allerley unterhaltende Stellen auch einige zur Erdbeschreibung gehörende Nachrichten. Der Verf. dieses Auszugs, welcher auch die folgenden Bände anfertigen wird, heißt Sattler und ist wie man aus der Unterschrift der Vorrede sieht zu Nürnberg wohnhaft.  Kt.«
